The Android Q Beta first developer preview is here and it’s available for the all the pixel devices starting today.
There are a lot of changes in security and a lot of other stuff. For the most part, Android Q looks almost identical to the Android Pie. The most noticeable change has been in the fonts.
The notification shades have been changed. The fonts have also changed in the settings menu. Some of the icons have also changed such as the wifi icon has now changed into the bars.
It’s not quick to get to the app permissions and privacy. Another big change is about the location app permissions which actually is a nice change as most people would find it useful to allow the location access all the time or allow it while the application is being used or just deny it altogether. This is probably the biggest change and most people are gonna find it useful.
You can change the accent colors now under the developer options though there are only to pick for such as black, green and purple along with the default blue and you can see the accent color change throughout the OS. The notifications can be swiped now only in one direction which is kind of a bummer though. So if you liked swiping your notifications left side, you don’t have that option anymore. Another noteworthy change is that now whenever you take a screenshot it includes the notch in the screenshot.
That pretty much sums up the noticeable and visual changes in this developer preview of Android Q Beta version.
